Awards

Most Potential - given to a Senior Man, Senior Women and Junior member.

This award is given annually as an incentive to our athletes to strive for excellence and challenge themselves to reach new levels of competitiveness. The prize that accompanies this award is a free Social Membership, and a free Otago Centre Registration with the University Club for the 2008 season. The following are the conditions of the award are:
Most Potential Award Description
- Donated as an award to a top performing Senior Man, Senior Woman and Junior member of the Club.
- To be awarded in the form of a free Social and Otago Centre membership with the Otago University Harrier and Multisport Club.
- The award is not transferable.
- This award will be re-allocated in the following instances:
o The recipient is not going to be a member of the University Club in the following year.
o The recipient wishes the award to be given to someone else.
- In the case where the award has to be re-allocated, the Club Executive (President, Club Captains, Secretary / Treasurer) shall choose an appropriate recipient.
o In this instance the original and the secondary award recipients shall receive a "Most Potential Award" certificate but only the second recipient shall receive the free membership.
In the case where the Executive believes there is no Club member (in the grade that the award was originally allocated for) who warrants the award they can choose not to allocate it for that year.
Dickhead of the year

This award was first awarded in 1991 and is awarded to the club member who does something so stupid and so dumb it allows everyone to call them a "dickhead". In remembrance of their actions they are given a trophy that looks a lot like a penis and testicles. Thus, for a year they are remembered by their actions!

Nominations are requested every year and the committee chose a new recipient, with the current dickhead passing the "log of wood" on to a fellow dickhead for safe keeping…

Check out the Hall of Shame for all the losers who have won the club's most "prestigious" award!
