This year the race was held in near perfect conditions, slightly overcast, no breeze and perfect running temperatures. The race was again held at 7.00pm, in which we started the race outside Gardies. We had a very tight race in the Men’s race with Nathan Baxter (4.34) holding out Ben McHale (4.36) in a sprint for the line. Simon Kerr had a great race to finish third in 4.40. In the female race Maddy Munro (5.27) won comfortably over Erin Whitla (7.03) and Sarah van Hout (7.03). Maddy Munro was only a second outside the race record set by Anna Begg last year. We had over 20 people compete in the race and approx 150 spectators. The goal of the race is to not get egged by the rowdy Castle Street scarfies.
